Objectives

To present the Director General of the Ministry of Environmental Protection with the report by the Specialist Committee, headed by the author, that details the background, recommendations and guidelines concerning human exposure to magnetic fields generated by electrical grids (400kV, 161kV, 22kV conduction cables, home and external transformers, control panels, etc.).

The main background for the various recommendations being intelligent application of the precautionary principle regarding human exposure to magnetic fields generated by the electrical grid in Israel.

Implications /Applications

The Specialist Committee report was approved in full and has become a State Law, as part of the Non-ionizing Radiation Law  5767 - 2006.

Status

The report was concluded and submitted to the Director General of the Ministry of Environmental Protection in March 2005.
