Objectives

  • A detailed review of the environmental impact survey of routine activities of factories in the Ramat Hovav Industrial Zone that was conducted mainly by a group of US experts and partially by TAHAL.

 

  • The review included a detailed examination of the data, assumptions and separate calculations of all the main parameters included in the survey, using accepted international models and quantitative methodologies developed at the Risk Assessment Centre.

 

  • Qualitative and quantitative comments were forwarded to the American and Israeli teams. The review was amended according to this opinion.

 

  • The submission of recommendations to the Ministry of Health regarding its position on the environmental impact survey (and particularly on the health-related effects).

 

Implications / Applications

Full adoption of the recommendations by the Ministry of Health and their adoption in the Ministry of Health"s position in the National Council for Planning and Construction.
