In the framework of the efforts made by the Sackler Faculty of Medicine committee to promote and supervise teaching at Tel Aviv University, encouraging good teaching, it was decided that the Faculty would publish a list of the "better teachers". The list for 2007 was the first of its kind. The data was compiled from the database of the "Unit for Promoting Teaching" headed by Dr. Netta Notzer.

The criteria for determining teachers who "are better" are:

  • Taught in at least one course with many participants at the Faculty of Medicine for 1st, 2nd or 3rd year medical students.
  • Received a score above 32 by at least 20 students in the course.

At the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at the University, two lecturers were chosen, both researchers at the Gertner Institute:

  • Dr. Siegal Sadetzki
  • Dr. Rachel Dankner
