As part of the efforts to encourage better teaching, the Committee for Promoting and Monitoring Teaching in the Sackler Medical School at Tel-Aviv University decided to publish a list of the "better teachers" in the faculty.
The data is taken from the Teaching Promotion Unit directed by Dr. Netta Notzar.
We are proud to have four senior researchers from the Gertner Institute on the "Better Lecturers" list for 2008:
In the Department of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine:
- Dr. Ofra Kalter-Leibovici
- Dr. Racheli Dankner
In the Department of Clerkship Epidemiology:
- Dr. Liat Lerner-Geva
- Dr. Galit Hirsh-Yechezkel
The "Better Teacher" criteria are:
In the Department of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine:
- Teaching at least one course in the Medical School (to years 1, 2 or 3) to over 20 students.
- Evaluation by at least 20 students.
- Lecturers attaining an average grade of over 32.
In the Department of Clerkship Epidemiology:
- Teaching at least four hours
- Five or more student evaluations
- Lecturers attaining an average grade of over 38.
